Jhankriti is a Doordarshan-graded<\/strong>, UNESCO & Ministry of Culture, Government of India<\/strong> recognized Kathak artiste from the Jaipur Gharana<\/strong>, a disciple of Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and internationally renowned Kathak Maestro Guru<\/strong> Dr. Shashi Sankhla Ji<\/strong> from the rich lineage of legendary Guru Pt. Sh. Kundan Lal Gangani Ji<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Jhankriti is a Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India Senior Scholarship awardee<\/strong> and a highly qualified <\/strong>professional Performing Artist (<\/strong>Doctoral Research Scholar<\/em><\/strong>, <\/strong>University Gold Medalist<\/em><\/strong>, double Master\u2019s <\/strong>and Bachelor\u2019s in Kathak)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has performed at prestigious platforms including the Sangeet Natak Akademi<\/strong>, Ministry of Culture<\/strong>, Ministry of Tourism<\/strong>, Govt of India<\/strong>, Govt of Rajasthan<\/strong>, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade of Hungary.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her dance style has been described as a symphony of elegance<\/strong> and strength<\/strong>, a \u2018captivating spectacle that mesmerizes the audience<\/strong> with its enchanting rhythms\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each movement, a poetic verse in the grand epic of Kathak, resonates with the soulful echoes of this ancient Indian classical dance<\/strong> form, painting an ethereal tableau that lingers in the heart long after the performance concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born on 28 March 1998, Jhankriti naturally took to dancing at an early age. Ever since the age of 8 years, she has been undergoing rigorous training in the ancient Indian classical dance form of Kathak in the Guru-Shishya parampara<\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jhankriti completed her initial training under Guru Smt. Madhu Wadhwa Ji, Shishya of Guru Dr. Shashi Sankhla Ji, and then her advanced training under Guru Dr. Shashi Sankhla Ji herself.

Jhankriti wishes to help raise awareness towards the conservation of <\/strong>Kathak as well as the folk traditions through her work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a performing artist, she intends to engage the youth<\/strong>, inspiring in them a sense of pride in their culture by showcasing live Kathak performances, incorporating powerful storytelling techniques, and teaching them the Indian classical dance form to take the rich legacy forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jhankriti intends to contribute towards the promotion of the arts through collaborative art performances<\/strong> with artists, amalgamating multiple art forms, blending dance performances with other art forms such as painting, sculpture, poetry, art installations, and digital media. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jhankriti wishes to further her learning endeavors in the ancient Indian classical dance form of Kathak, contributing her bit to this beautiful art form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RECOGNITION<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Jhankriti is a Doordarshan-graded artiste.<\/strong> She has been nominated as a member of the prestigious International Dance Council, CID, UNESCO, Paris<\/strong>, recognized as the United Nations of Dance. <\/p>\n\n\n

Jhankriti has been awarded the prestigious \u201cScholarship to Young Artists\u201d in the field of Kathak dance<\/strong> by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India<\/strong>, which recognizes artists of \u2018Outstanding promise\u2019<\/strong> in the Indian classical arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jhankriti is a Doctoral Research Scholar pursuing her PhD in Kathak<\/strong> from the Department of Music, University of Rajasthan, under the supervision of Prof Vandana Kalla, Head of Department, University of Rajasthan. Her interdisciplinary research contextualizes dance in Indian heritage spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is also a University Topper & Gold Medalist<\/strong> in Bachelor in Performing Arts, B.P.A. (Kathak) <\/strong>from the Department of Music, University of Rajasthan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jhankriti has completed her Master\u2019s in Kathak<\/strong> from the Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya <\/strong>(Khairagarh University). <\/p>\n\n\n

An academic topper throughout<\/strong>, Jhankriti did her schooling at Saint Anselm\u2019s Pink City School, Jaipur, and was awarded the ‘Best Anselmite Girl of the Year Award’<\/strong> for her outstanding performance in academics and extracurriculars.<\/p>\n\n\n
